Overview

The CRM & Social Media Manager is responsible for the management and development of the Sony Music UK (and other company brands) online, as well as supporting the campaign output of the wider CRM and label Digital teams.

The CRM & Social Media Manager will devise, plan and execute content for the Sony Music UK website and all social media platforms (Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, and others as needed) through liaison with the internal Communications, Partnerships, Sync and Digital teams and will create actionable items from post-campaign analysis.

Working in the centralised CRM team, the CRM & Social Media Manager will spearhead the development of label and artist audiences through owned media by interfacing with labels’ digital marketing teams to plan and support CRM initiatives and engage with digital mechanic design, marketing automation and email marketing to augment and embellish labels’ artist campaigns and provide the best possible fan experience.

**Please note: this is a 12 month maternity contract**

Responsibilities

Social Media

  • Overall responsibility for the Sony Music UK website (www.sonymusic.co.uk) and brand profile on social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn & Instagram. This responsibility is extended to other company brands where required.
  • Collaborate with UK labels and other stakeholders to proactively devise, plan and execute content strategies in accordance with the strategic vision and brand guidelines and which deliver against key business objectives.
  • Create and upkeep a marketing calendar/social planner to ensure the posting of timely content and to take advantage of seasonal and current events.
  • Ensure posts are written with a consistent and appropriate tone of voice across all platforms and assets and co-ordinate with UK labels to maximise reach.
  • Maximise the effectiveness of the Paid Media budget through liaison with media agency partners.
  • Drive growth of strategic target audiences and engagement on all channels.
  • Spot trends across both music and culture to activate playlist creation / suggestions.
  • Report campaign performance back to key stakeholders.
  • Keep abreast of new social platforms and apps and make appropriate recommendations.

 

CRM

  • Strategise, build and manage labels’ and artists’ owned media channels, including the execution of the labels’ email marketing campaigns and triggered messaging.
  • Use Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Salesforce CRM and associated third party tools (including Movable Ink, The Appreciation Engine) to create and continuously enrich a 360° view of the fan through demographic, behavioural and transactional data.
  • Create digital mechanics (competitions, sign up forms, social tools) and set up associated marketing automation workflows to create cross-marketing and streaming opportunities, all in accordance with Data Protection legislation and UK law.
  • Provide comprehensive campaign reporting and actionable insights.
  • Represent CRM at artist planning and label meetings. Offer sound CRM strategy to ensure CRM is a core strategic component in all digital marketing campaigns.
  • Advise Channel Managers on best practice email design, manage competitions, oversee API connections and ensure the use of dynamic, affiliated links.
  • Understand labels’ needs, identify new CRM tools and work with Director of CRM to deliver them.
  • Nurture, educate and train CRM Intern.

Person Specifications

  • 3-5 years’ first-hand experience in social media, ideally in the music industry or for global brands either client- or agency-side.
  • Impeccable writing, spelling & grammar skills and fine attention to detail with the ability to flex tone to capture brand personality.
  • Advanced understanding of consumer behaviour on social channels and maximising organic reach.
  • Well-versed in digital metrics, social analytics and campaign tracking.
  • Natural ability to forge strong relationships across business units and with senior management.
  • Strategic thinker with ability to drive and manage integrated marketing campaigns to execution independently.
  • Passion for music, strong work ethic and comfortable with the ‘always on’ nature of social.
  • 2 years’ CRM experience using Salesforce Marketing Cloud and executing email marketing campaigns preferred.
  • Skilled in content creation, including photography and video capture and editing.
  • Knowledge of Data Protection legislation.
