  • Overview

    The Director, Partner Development will manage elements of Sony Music’s macro business relationship with its largest global digital partners. 

     

    The successful candidate will be a global internal expert on the digital partner account(s) they support and be responsible for initiating and developing insight-backed projects that optimise opportunities for Sony Music’s artists with the accounts. 

     

    The candidate will be highly numerate, bringing a background in analytics to the role. They will be able to initiate and execute deep-dive analytical projects that derive key insights intended to drive our business forward. They will be comfortable in analyzing large data sets – or briefing analytics teams to do so - in order to extract key findings and then articulating key strategic recommendations to stakeholders within the organization.

    Equally, the candidate will use relationship management skills and experience to engage with partners, sometimes at senior levels, to implement, develop and monitor these initiatives.

     

    This role is based at Sony Music’s offices in London and reports to the VP, Partner Development.

    Responsibilities

    • Quickly develop extensive expertise in, and assume global responsibility for, numerous aspects of Sony Music’s key digital partner relationships.
    • Conduct business planning and forecasting, implement and maintain regular communication of updates & insight.
    • Help develop & implement long term strategy for optimizing outcomes with allocated partners.
    • Project management across all relevant aspects related to the partner. This could include supporting operational integration, reporting, content strategies, ongoing analysis of partner performance, problem solving, etc.
    • Develop new revenue initiatives with respect to allocated partners, and work with the wider Partner Development team on cross-partner initiatives to drive wider-landscape customer acquisition and ARPU optimization.
    • Build strong relationships with key contacts at allocated partners, and internal stakeholders at all levels: including repertoire owners, international affiliates, operations, reporting & analytics, and senior management.
    • Communicate to & educate internal stakeholders at all levels on best practices, operational procedure and complexities, analytics, and other opportunities.
    • Represent Sony Music’s interests to the partner, and seek to develop solutions to perceived opportunities.

    Person Specifications

    • 3+ years’ experience within music: artist management, label, or digital service provider - in strategy, business development and/or digital marketing. Candidate must be intimately acquainted with subscription businesses. If not music, must have relevant experience within a comparable subscription-based media industry.
    • 2+ years' experience with data analytics, predictive modeling, and insight-based project development & implementation.
    • Pro-active and resourceful go-getter who can flourish in a fast-paced and hectic environment by identifying opportunities, coming up with creative solutions and driving plans through to completion.
    • Outstanding attention to detail / results driven.
    • Highly analytical with experience in managing and analyzing complex data sets.
    • Genuine passion for the music industry and growth of digital music sector.
    • Strong relationships person.
    • Excellent spoken, written, and presentation skills and ability to present to and influence people at all levels.
    • Undergraduate degree essential. Post-graduate degree in business and/or digital marketing a plus.
