  • Overview

    Sony Music UK’s Digital Partnerships team is recruiting a streaming expert who will be responsible for shaping catalogue strategy across all DSPs. The successful candidate will be entrepreneurial with a keen understanding of multiple streaming platforms and should have a clear vision for how the market is likely to develop over the next 3 years. They will also have a good knowledge of SME’s catalogue with a particular focus on post-2000 repertoire.

     

    The Head of Catalogue Streaming will be directly responsible for Sony Music Entertainment's (SME) catalogue strategy on all UK DSPs with a focus on maximizing streaming activity and market share and driving new on-platform business opportunities for Sony’s Catalogue releases.

     

    The Head of Catalogue Streaming will be expected to devise and implement a 3 year strategy to grow SME UK’s Catalogue streaming business with a focus on new technologies/market developments such as voice activation, which uses a combination of data and product knowledge to identify opportunities.

    Responsibilities

    The key responsibilities of this role include developing strong relationships across multiple areas within the accounts, including content & editorial, product marketing, data reporting & analytics. Maintaining strong relationships with SME's Catalogue Marketing and Digital Marketing teams.

     

    You will lead pitch meetings and business presentations with the DSPs to ensure that all SME catalogue releases have maximum representation and impact.

     

    Drive new business initiatives with the account to maximize streams and exposure for artists.

     

    You must be an idea generator for creative executions with accounts on market-leading campaigns and work closely with Marketing & Playlisting teams to create holistic plans for the account

     

    You will be expected to establish and implement a set of KPIs for SME’s catalogue business.

     

    The role will work closely with Sales/Digital teams in the US and other key SME markets to ensure a two-way flow of ideas and best practice.

     

    It is key to use data to identify both short and long term opportunities on streaming platforms and work with the Marketing team to deliver these. Educate the Catalogue Division on account initiatives, priorities, playlisting strategy, new technologies & best practices

     

    You will be expected to work collaboratively with the front line Digital Partnerships team to ensure cohesive catalogue/frontline artist campaign discussions with partners and share insight, analysis, and recommendations with accounts to improve our mutual businesses

    Person Specifications

    Type of Experience

    You must have extensive experience in the field and experience in executing multiple, simultaneous, complex campaigns in a fast-paced, pressurised environment. Experience in label or DSP would be advantageous.

     

    Qualifications

    You will have high level of literacy, numerate and computer skills. 

     

    Skills

    You must have a passion for music and a good understanding of SME’s catalogue, especially post 2000. You will also have a thorough understanding of the global streaming market and good relationships with key personnel at UK DSPs preferred.

     

    You will have knowledge and expertise on how to make a compelling pitch to partners for a wide breadth of artists from heritage to recent. Along with be an analytical thinker with the ability to use data to spot market trends and opportunities as well as a real curiosity regarding digital trends, platform developments and new features.

    You will have a self-starter approach to creating new opportunities.
